Adding media to the library takes too long. There are a lot of the features I think are missing from media 10 that should be in It allowed a good switch from library to playing window. I totally agree with other people on this post about 12 - it sucks for all the reasons stated. In Softy's attempt to constantly re-invent WMP, they given us an inferior product that is not intuitive to use.
Here we go again: my problem has returned! It happens as part of a process, occuring every seconds. I have also shut off media sharing on all computers and my MediaSmart server. First I would suggest changing codec packs I personally think Sharks pack needs work " my opinion " I use K-lite codec packs for years and have never had an issue with them plus they are constantly updating them to the latest an greatest.

Thanks for your feedback. Following above only removed the laptop from the list of "Media Devices" when I select the "Network" entry in File Explorer on the workstation. I could see them from said devices, but if I try to play an audio track for example, the player reports "You do not have permissions But now, after running above steps the media players can't even see the laptop - it is no longer appearing on the network as a "Media Device" so I am now one step worse off than before.
The only difference in the "Music" folder that is shared from the workstation and is accessible by external media devices is that in the files Properties-Sharing tab, "Share" button "Network Access" panel lists a user, "ASP. Security tab for both are identical except on the workstation "ASP. So something in the list of steps about has now disabled the laptop from being found on the network as a "Media Device".
